Methodology: how we check our guides
We are an independent Australian publisher of compliance checklists. This page describes how every guide is researched. No people, no personal details, just the process.
Primary sources we check
- The A New Tax System (Family Assistance) Act 1999
- The Child Care Subsidy Minister's Rules 2017
- Services Australia's published Child Care Subsidy pages
Check cadence
Full re-check before each CCS year, quarterly during the year, plus ad-hoc checks on announced rule changes. The full re-check for the current CCS year was completed on 2026-10-04.
What "verified" means here
Every rule and threshold in the runbook is traced to a dated Services Australia publication or a section of the legislation.
How we differ from subsidy calculators
Calculators answer "how much subsidy" at one point in time. We answer "how much risk": the runbook works in scenario bands (lower, likely, higher income cases) rather than a single figure, explains how reconciliation outcomes (debt, top-up, or no change) are decided, and tells you which lever to pull when your income moves mid-year. The official Services Australia estimator remains the authoritative source for your personal number; this guide is the routine around it. Competitor comparison checked 2026-10-04.
What we never claim
- We do not give legal, financial or other professional advice. Everything here is general information.
- We do not invent testimonials, reviews or statistics. Where we have none, we say so.
- The primary source always overrides this site. Check the official publication before acting.
